We went to the ranch and had a great weekend this past week. Matt and Dannon and Chris have been out bow hunting every weekend for the past month or so and have not had any success....until Friday night when Matt got his first bull elk! He was so excited and so were we until our happy little weekend turned into something not so happy.........Matt was finishing the things you have to do after you get an elk and if you hunt you know what that is, needless to say things did not go so well and he slipped with his knife and got a HUGE cut. I had to take him to the hospital and he had to get stitches and has been in a GREAT deal of pain ever since. Here are some pictures of our happy weekend, Matt's GREAT accomplishment and the CUT....

That's so nasty! I'm sorry. Congrats on the elk, though. Thanks for all your help this week, your a lifesaver, I owe you big!!!
ooo, yuck, ouch
Congrats and then ouch!
Ouch! That looks so painful! Love the picure of Brig in his hat...
Wahoooooooooo... Horray for the "MIGHTY HUNTER" that is awesome, we are so impressed especially because it was with your bow!!
Bummer about the hand, I gotta say it looks pretty nasty!
Great family photo around the trophy! Quite the cut he has but at least he did it doing something he loves!
That cut is pretty wild! And your family looks so cute around the beast! Too bad it would be totally white trash to use as a Christmas photo! VB is going well--a little too well! We're 6-2, and we have 3 games next week--then the big tournament...
ewwwww...that looks like it hurt. But i am sure the elk is in worse shape. Your boys are so cute and funny. Glad you had fun.
Oh man that is a nasty cut! Hope Matt is feeling better. That looks like a HORRIBLE place to cut yourself!
SOOO SICK, yet I cant stop staring at it :) Glad Matt is alright though.
that was simply CRAZY! Hopefully this weekend is a little more mellow!
We are all so proud of the elk and it will be great to have meat in the freezer...hopefully there is no hand in there somewhere!!!
I love the pictures. Make me a copy for the Ranch scrapbook!
Holy crap now thats a cut! I saw you walking the other day and I waved did you see me?
It still makes me so weak looking at that thing. Good job on the elk Matt. Holly, me and your wife were all trying to think of a good story for the awesome scar you will have the rest of your life. Like the elk was not quite dead and it bit you and you had to finish him off. Something like that might sound pretty manly.
hey i turned my blog to private, i need your email address babe. email it to me at lil_tiny_megan@yahoo.com thanks Ab!
